Anabel Poole has been in public service for more than 30 years and currently is the Chief of Agency Operations for the County of San Diego, Health and Human Services Agency’s Office of Business Intelligence. Anabel has held many leadership roles in the County of San Diego including Program Manager for Public Assistance Programs, Legislative Affairs Manager, Manager of the Office of Media and Public Relations and Manager of the Executive Office Analyst Core which all focused on advancing process improvement and furthering system integration to improve the lives of county residents.
Anabel is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and oversees process improvement efforts in the Health and Human Services Agency, ensuring that systematic methods are deployed to improve performance efficiencies and reduce variation in business operations to achieve productivity and value. Anabel is also Baldrige examiner trained and oversees the Baldrige journey throughout the Health and Human Services Agency.
Prior to joining the County of San Diego, Anabel was in the United States Navy, where she served as a Petty Officer focused on Aviation Maintenance Administration performing managerial duties to keep aircraft maintenance activities running efficiently. In her spare time Anabel enjoys spending time with her family and traveling to El Paso to spoil her new granddaughter.
